Mario Bros Birthday
Is there anything more fun than celebrating a birthday?
My son happens to pick the best birthday themes. They always challenge me to be creative. You can’t tell me I’m not the best when I see his little face light up.

This year he wanted a Mario Bros birthday. Here’s what I put together!
Balloons
I try to be earth conscious even when it comes to birthdays. Balloons
are my one give. I went with Luigi colors since that’s his favorite character.
Just a small arch to add some magic when he woke up in the morning.
He had a lot of fun doing a water balloon fight at his skateboard party.
He asked me to do them again. I just placed some characters in the bins for a
special touch.
Gift Wrap
It’s a birthday tradition for me to make a gift wrap for the kids.
I keep a little piece for the scrapbook. I painted Yoshi eggs on this old packing
wrap. It was so simple yet super cute. Then I grabbed this fabric quarter to use
as gift wrap. I love seeing others do fabric wrap, and the print was too
perfect. I’m going to sew it into an art supply pouch for Micah.
Activities
Besides the water balloon fight, my husband took the kids to one
of those fun zones. I thought it would be fitting for them to ride go karts. (I
stayed home with the newborn, hence no photos sorry.) Then we had a little
family competition in Mario Kart and watched Micah play some of his new games.
My husband and I chose different gifts. It’s just a thing we do as we both get
so excited about the kids’ birthdays. He got the cooler gifts this year. I’ll
have to come hard next birthday. We also did a craft, I showed it on my Instagram
and Pinterest.
Food
My husband grilled, so Micah had his favorite. Hot dogs! I made
this Piranha Plant watermelon fruit bowl. It turned out adorable, and the kids
were amused with Mario on top. I also added these coins on the kids’ ice cream.
I grabbed the One Up mushroom candy tins as favors. We only had
a couple friends over for him, so it was very reasonable cost wise.
Cake
Obviously, this is my favorite part! Micah requested vanilla this year.
Originally it was a Mario cake, then it turned to Yoshi, and ended up being
Luigi. He last minute slid it in that Luigi is his favorite, so long night for
mom. I would do it over and over for that boy.
Micah is the sweetest six-year-old. He is kind and determined. He
expresses himself through art. He has a clever sense of humor. I love being his
momma.
Happiest of birthdays Micah!
XO,
Momma
