Spring Homemaking
The first day of spring is just days away! If you were here for my cozy season blog, you know how eager I am. I love the newness of hope and bliss that comes with spring air. We basically live at the North Pole though, so I must create the spring air inside for now.
Here are my simple spring homemaking ideas.
Spring Simmer Pot
Everyone talks about fall simmer pots, but spring
takes the cake for me.
I love the bright and fresh notes that mimic
nature.
Here’s what I put in mine:
Lavender
Roses
Lemons
Mint
Baby’s Breath (It’s just my favorite)
You could add essential oils even. I don’t think
you can go wrong with fresh herbs and florals smelling up your house.
Citrus Candles
I saw a picture of these a while back and have been
wanting to try since!
I used up the wax from another candle, and just
poured it into a lemon pod.
As the wax begins to solidify, I sprinkled on some
lavender. I am still using up all my lavender from last summer’s festival. I
cannot wait to go back with my babies this year.
Lavender Lemonade
Honestly, any refreshing homemade lemonade will get me spring cleaning. My family tried lavender lemonade for the first-time last summer and fell in love. It’s not soapy at all, like I expected! I am not a huge lavender fan, but it made such an impression on me.
Spring Baking
I always say baking is my favorite way to smell up
my house. I have dreams of my kids coming home when they’re older wanting me to
bake all their favorites. Baking with the seasonal flavors is sure to hit a
sweet spot with everyone.
Here are some of my favorite spring bakes I’ve done. You can also check out my Instagram for more inspiration.
