Brown Sugar Apple Galette
It's hard to believe Autumn is a
few weeks away. We hardly had temps above eighty this summer, which is a first
in my lifetime.
I've decided to embrace it the best way I know, baking!
Here is my super simple, easy
peasy, brown sugar apple galette recipe. It's like a rainy, fall day, with a warm kiss of
cinnamon.
Recipe:
1 Thawed Puff Pastry
(I used store bought, but you can
do homemade.)
1/4 C Brown Sugar
2 Honey Crisp Apples
4 Tbsp Unsalted Butter
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1/4 Teaspoon Nutmeg
Squeeze of Lemon Juice
Powdered Sugar for Dusting
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 425 degrees.
Very thinly slice your apples. (Place
to the side)
Melt your butter in small bowl
Mix in the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg,
and lemon juice (place to the side)
Cut your pastry into four squares.
Brush some of the brown sugar
sauce on the center of each square.
Lay your apples flat on top.
Drizzle more sauce on top. (If
desired)
Crimp the excess dough around the apples.
Bake for about 12-15 minutes.
Dust with powdered sugar and enjoy!
It would be delicious with vanilla
ice cream on top, ooo and a caramel drizzle.
