How to Edit Food Photos
Hey
y’all,
I
thought I would post a quick break down of how to edit your food photos. The
key part of social media is presenting your work, interest, love in a way that
makes people stop scrolling. I am no master of that, but here I am giving you a
photo tutorial. Ha!
I seriously hope this helps you achieve the aesthetic you want. Let’s get into it.
The before is my picture fresh off my camera. I have a Canon Powershot newest model. I use the Lightroom mobile app (free version) as well as the simple photo edit tool on my iPhone.
First,
remove the shadows +100. You will instantly see the photo brighten up.
Then
turn the highlights +100, even brighter.
Turn
the blacks +100, we are getting somewhere.
Take
the whites to +50 or go higher if your photo is still a bit dark.
Play with the contrast and exposure. Watch your lines as you do. You don’t want to sacrifice clarity for brightness.
Then
I export the photo and edit in the iPhone tools.
Once
again, I turn the shadows down 100 percent.
Then
I take the brightness up.
If
your food is colorful let us enhance that in vibrance. I want my sprinkles to
pop in this photo.
There
you go, you did it! When editing pictures there is no one edit fits every photo, but these steps are sure to help. I hope it was easy to follow.
