Three-REX Dinosaur Theme Birthday
Everyone says it, but I don't know how we got here so fast. Then I think about the long days, exhausted, but still finding energy for one last round of dinosaurs.
Three years of trying to be what you need in every phase. Three years of loving you, learning you, and watching you be everything you were called to be.
I love you, happy Three!
Micah is obsessed with dinosaurs, so momma came through with a Three Rex birthday.
Let's first talk about this perfect shirt from H&M. It's thin, summery, and best of all it has dinosaurs on it. I did this mini shoot with coordinating balloons. I wanted some photos for the scrapbook. It can be difficult to get pictures of busy toddlers, so I just let him be free with the balloons. I feel like I definitely caught his joy.
The next DIY I did were dino party hats.
It was super simple I cut the card stock in a triangular shape with a rounded edge.
Rolled it.
Then glued a spike strip to the side.
See, Shortte & Sweet
You can make confetti with the scraps. #zerowaste
Next up were the chalk dino tracks I made on our walk up. It was just a simple touch that made him smile. You can practice counting or colors as your little one jumps. Plus what kid doesn't love chalk?
Look at these DINOmite cookies my sweet friend @buttersweetcookieco made.
They were as good as they look. If you are in the Tacoma, WA area please check her out.
This balloon garland was fun to make. I cut some card stock leaves to add as well.
I made this double chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream. The T-Rex I made with fondant. I wanted a simple, yet special cake for Micah. He was on a sugar high for hours.
(This dinosaur shirt is also from H&M.)
Here is an idea for table display if you're having a party after quarantine or if you're fancy.
(Target for the win.)
If you know me I take sensory play very serious. My favorite part of celebrating Micah was watching him get excited about this Dino dig. I buried some of his dinosaurs in some soil. Then had him dig them out. Super easy. (I recommend sand too, but we had soil on hand.)
Playing or learning?
Celebrating his birthday during quarantine made it easy to soak in the day. We played, and watched Dinosaur on Disney+, which was pretty good. I hope you got inspired from this if you're throwing a dino birthday or just added a new sensory play to your repertoire.
XO,
This is THREE!
